What a joy it was to encourage Kristina Joy Meyer as she was baptized on Saturday! If you have not yet made this decisive step of commitment to Christ, we’ll be having baptism again on Saturday, Dec. 16. Here is Kristina’s testimony, for your encouragement:
“Hi. My name is Kristina Joy Meyer. I am here in Philadelphia with my family visiting the Detwilers for Thanksgiving.
“I feel that I have always known that Jesus was the Son of God, but I didn’t really know what that meant. When I was 5, I wanted to invite Jesus into my heart, but was too embarrassed to ask anyone how to do it. When I was 7, I started to ask myself questions, like, “Can Jesus love me after all the bad things I‘ve done?” I had learned in church that he could, and I trusted my mom enough to ask her to help me pray to Jesus. We prayed to the King of the universe – to the man who died for me.
“Earlier this year, I got a greater understanding of God’s goodness and wanted to take part in more “Christian activities”. I took a class about God, the Bible and the church. Now, I would like to be baptized as a statement to everyone that I believe in Jesus.”
